Original artwork description:

This work is about the Egyptian deity known as Sobek. Sobek is associated with the Nile crocodile or the West African crocodile and is represented either in its form or as a human with a crocodile head. He was associated with pharaonic power, fertility and military prowess. He was revered in Egyptian culture and was prayed to in order to be protected from the crocodiles that filled the Niles. I have always been interested in this deity and decided to draw my own interpretation of him in black pastel.
