A dramatic extra large minimalist black and white fine art photography print of clouds and sea from the Isle of Skye.
Shimmering silver water between the Isle of Skye and the tiny Isle of Raasay with mainland Scottish Highlands in the background. Over this vast expanse of mirror like water under thunder and cloud a bird soars above the waves.
Oh Lord of the Heights, whose eye encircles
The land and the sea, and smiles through the thunder,
Smile on us too, as sail we outward
To far blue Isles, with tales of the Wonder'
From 'The Iona Rainbow' by Kenneth Macleod (1872 - 1955)
I photograph and print every image, I do not outsource any part of my workflow. Each canvas has been painstakingly crafted to ensure the true colours, resolution and texture are exactly as they should be.
For these special small editions of my work I use Canson® Infinity Museum ProCanvas. This fabulous 100% cotton canvas has been designed "for professionals producing true Fine Art Reproductions that require precision images with a very high resolution".
Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper and canvas for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, Canson has the choice of many famous artists such as Picasso, Ingres, Chagal and Miro to name but a few. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.
The canvas is printed and quality checked by me and it is made with a 2 inches white border for the sides. You can request a different colour for the sides on purchase. It is not mounted on the frame due to the difficulty of shipping such a large item. It is rolled and shipped in a tube so it will arrive in perfect condition.
By using beautiful Canson Museum ProCanvas paper combining it with the fabulous non-fade Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta inkset of 9 colours, I can produce a print of exceptional quality which will last a lifetime without fading.
