A view from a high window overlooking a park in Austria. I was staying there last year while on a ski-ing holiday. The snowfall the previous night had been so heavy, the trees were laden and beautiful and in the park the little house looked so magical with it's conical roof covered in snow. The shadows were a bluish colour and everything looked so clean, so pure, I just could not help but paint it.
It is very loosely painted, I feel that to define everything with detail means that feeling of that moment is lost. It is painted from life although through a window because of the cold and with a very limited palette, ultramarine, a little black, white and yellow ochre.
