"Snowy Garden"

During the night snow had fallen. Not much though, just a gentle dusting, enough to sprinkle the tree and the pampas grass.
To me there's not much to like about the winter, all that cold and dark. Except sometimes you can look out of the window and everywhere looks so beautiful.

I've used thin transparent layers of oil paints overlaid with thick impasto brushstrokes to make the scene glow.

Everyday places are a big part of my inspiration. The changing seasons in my garden seem to have given birth to a whole series of paintings.
