This is a painting of an oak tree on Hammers Lane in Mill Hill, North London. I drive past this tree almost every day, sometimes while driving up the hill, sometimes down the hill. I am fascinated by this tree - the expanse of its branches, the view around it, the light playing on its trunk, branches and leaves, how it changes depending on the time of day, weather, season and the view point. This particular painting is one of a series of paintings of this tree.
