This 'WINTER SNOW series' of paintings is from an afternoon at Fell Foot by Windermere during a rare covering in snow. Only x6 of these paintings were made.

Often a feature of my work as I engage with the physical process of mark-making, the impasto paint layered wet on wet is also to create expression, depth and connection with the landscape I am immersed in. These paintings are layered with thick paint in the foreground to emulate the thick covering of snow that encouraged visitors and families to visit the lake side - making snowmen and enjoying snowball fights. These paintings are complete with beautifully handmade, deep, scooped and hand-painted white wooden frames - leading the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and labelled on the reverse, these are ready to hang.
