Sometimes the simplest of subjects are the most interesting to paint. It was a cloudy day and there was constant cool light by my northern window. I wanted to capture that cool light and reflections on the window sill. So I just set up these two eggplants and painted them with bold luscious brushstrokes.

Do take a look at the close ups, I have to say the brushwork in this one is something I am quite proud of! This little painting can be combined with any of my other still life paintings to make a stunning display in your kitchen or dining room.
