Small Fires No 1
When my son sent me a few photos of a bonfire in his garden (too much hedge cutting) I felt a weird need to keep painting all those flames and cold over and over again.
There’s something quite primeval about a bonfire. Especially at the time of year when the days become shorter and the nights darker.
This series is my attempt to capture the mesmerising power of fire and in some way defeat the darkness.
SIZE: 12.5 x 17.5 x 1.5 cm (5” x 7”)
MATERIALS: Oil paints on cradled board.
READY TO HANG: Although supplied unframed the sides are painted and this painting is ready to hang.
SHIPPED in a cardboard box.
