ARTIST’S NOTE
In “Small Bridge over the Canal,” Antonino Puliafico invites the viewer into a peaceful woodland scene where foliage gently arches overhead, framing a subtle bridge in the distance. Thick strokes of oil paint, applied with a palette knife, layer one upon another to form a dappled canopy of greens and soft neutrals. Light filters through the leaves in soft patches, illuminating the understated path and drawing the eye toward the arch of the bridge.
