Artwork description:

The Nap Ministry reminds me to prioritise my rest, imagination and dreamspace to help us reclaim our humanity and work towards a more equitable society. By putting myself in this artwork, I am creating a world I want to inhabit where I give myself the loving care I need to thrive.

Slow down, Birungi is the third piece in the The Sisters Need Sleep collection which celebrates Black women taking care of themselves and resisting the forces that dominate.

This is a fine art print of a collage which incorporates hand cut paper, batik and paint.

The natural white cotton watercolour paper akin to traditional etching paper. The paper is cotton based, unbleached and made to museum archival specifications. The inks used are premium quality Epson Ultrachrome K3 pigmented inks. These inks are remarkably stable and under normal conditions will not fade for 100 years and beyond.
