Original artwork description:

Sliding Orbit
Mixed media Sculpture by Alan Harris British artist, paintings, oils, watercolours, pastel, mixed media and sculptures.
Everything in this piece is about the combination of forces that keep the balance of the Universe. A Delicate Balance ... Clouds and water vapor absorb greater amounts of outgoing thermal (heat) radiation, which is generated by the surface of the Earth ... Due to its delicate interplay with energy, atmospheric water has tremendous potential to impact the Earth's climate and temperature. Every part of the sculpture represent this process. The central piece is the Earth form surrounded by the elements that keep this balance.
I created these sculptures by using broken or otherwise discarded objects, to give them new or continued life by reworking them as works of art. using Kintsukuroi, to not only repair, but also to celebrate the initial damage with golden emphasis. My work was inspired by knowledge of this art, and a desire to preserve the past, like most of my figurative work.

Materials used:

metal, wood, resin, glass, vintage objects, gold, silver
