New York has repeatedly been a source of inspiration for artists from all over the world. It is a destination full of classic clichés: a young girl moves from the small town to the big city to live out her dreams of being an actress, there is a palpable energy that is found nowhere else in the world, people, myself included, flock to New York fascinated by the skyscrapers with a thousand lights, the yellow taxis, the jazz clubs. In fact, in this painting I was fascinated by the Art Deco of the Chrysler Building, by the liveliness of this metropolis, and when I returned to Italy, I took with me the image of the beautiful New York girl who appears in the foreground.
As usual, I use a mixed technique with enamel and acrylic colours on a digitally processed photograph on canvas, treated in the end with clear varnish to make it long-lasting and weather-resistant. Authentic work executed by me in one piece.
