Artwork description:

TITLE : Skyedance I

The play of light on the waters of the Sound of Raasay at dawn on a soft cloudy morning. A pink wind blows gently over silver water and light dances on the waves.

Limited Edition of 10 at this size

I feel the depths of this work will look fabulous in a very large size so I am presenting it here at 60 x 40 inches with a 2 inch white border for stretching on the frame.

Created as a panorama image with minimal post modification. Printed here in my studio to ensure perfect rendition and varnished with matte varnish to protect it from scratches.

About My Work
I am passionate about creating images of the landscape around Skye. The land, the people and the history are woven together to create a place of endless mystery.

I love working with luxury paper and canvas materials that hold their colours for a lifetime. For these special large prints of my work I use dreamy, light textured Canson Canvas and the highest quality inks. I do all my own printing, having spent years learning this skill I prefer to maintain control of the colour representation at all stages to ensure you get a truly handmade image.

About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon. Canson paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.

Other Sizes
This print is also available in 70 x 40 inches and smaller sizes.
