We've all been out and seen a beautiful night sky. They're impossible to photograph, so we rely only on our memories to capture them - this painting is one such memory. From one night when there were reports of a supermoon - the moon appearing larger than normal - I went up to witness it at a great viewpoint local to me.

The piece has an underpainting of acrylic, finissed with oils on top, painted on a deep box canvas.
