Title - 'Sitting Bulls Dream'

Federations, business men and soldiers moved through Native American territory making deals and whispering false promises tricking Chiefs out of their land . The Native American tribes believed in honour and took these men for their word. Betrayed, The Blue Coats massacred Villages, stole territory and caused havoc in their wake. These same people requested parley with Sitting Bull over an access matter into The Black Hills Of Dakota. One day 100 men consisting of representatives of the United States congress along with businessmen, soldiers and Generals sat waiting in their camp expecting the same outcome as before - signed documents, agreements, pats on the back and the return to congress with good news. What happened next was not foreseen. The ground trembled under their feet as their hearts pounded heavily. Sitting Bull came down from the Black Hills with 2000 warriors on horseback all dressed in full war paint. The warriors circled them a few times, then Sitting Bull, stern and proud trotted up to the pale wide eyed men seated at a table. His terms were this - " I will allow you to live today, but next time you enter The Black Hills Of Dakota none will leave alive." In the following days Sitting Bull had a dream that Bluecoats were falling on teepees, their ears were cut off . - this most likely signifying, they were not listening. He knew war was coming, the next day The Great Sioux, Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes mobilised their warriors believing sitting Bulls dream to be a sign. War was coming. The Battle Of Little Big Horn happened shortly after, Custer and his 7th cavalry were annihilated, none were left alive.

This painting was began 15 years ago I restarted it as I wasn't happy with the original. I went into details changed until I was happy with my vision, bringing it to its finish.
