Original artwork description:

"Sinfonietta n.2" Oil on canvas, 120 x 120cm (2021)

I conclude 2021 with this painting from the MUSICA PICTA series, the "Sinfonietta n.2".

An intense and challenging painting which together with the previous "Sinfonietta n.1" allowed me to measure myself on a large canvas. Compared to the previous "Sinfonietta 1" the tone is warmer. The tones of red and yellow prevail, in a set of shapes that fluctuate, overlap and recall each other just like the melodic lines within a musical symphony.
The painting was born from the desire to recreate and make people perceive with painting (shades, decorations, lines) the same type of involvement that melodies, rhythms and sounds have within a musical symphony. I chose to call it Sinfonietta because the large size of the canvas (120x120cm) allowed me greater definition and variety of elements.
Two twin works that pave the way for the next PAINTED SYMPHONYS that I will create during 2022.

Materials used:

oil
