Watercolour of two women touching hands.

Warm and cool, opposites in colour but surrounded by a happy yellow.
One woman with eyes open, woven flowing grey /silver hair, gazing at her friend; the other's eyes are closed, warm, russet, gold, smiling ... perhaps it is two facets of the same lady at two different times in her life? Both glammed up for the evening in beautiful dresses and jewellery.

The painting is highlighted with gold gouache on the lovely textured paper (see other pictures in this series) and here I have added silver acrylic to balance the gold. I really enjoy painting lacy dresses and fabulous jewellery.

I also love painting on this heavyweight cotton rag handmade paper from India, with its lovely textured surface and deckled edge (visible in the close-up pictures)
