Original artwork description:

Haughmond Abbey, just north-east of Shrewsbury, is a ruined medieval monastery just north-east of Shrewsbury in England. It oozes with atmosphere. Built seven hundred years ago and destroyed by King Henry four hundred years later, it's easy to feel the presence of the long-dead community - but then, maybe that's because I'm an ex-monk myself...

This sketch was made between lockdown one and two, late in 2020. It's in ink, on silk, mounted on a tough glass slab. You can display it on a stand as in the photos, or hang on a wall by a clip-on cable hanging if you prefer - just let me know which you prefer.

Materials used:

silk, glass, ink
