Another on of my sketchbook paintings from the 1990s. I have always been fascinated by plastic surgery and physical enhancements people make to themselves. I don't judge at all, this work was done when I was much younger and didn't appreciate the way the body changes over the years. However, it is better I suspect, to be happy with oneself to truly enjoy life. But if botox does it for you...good on you mate.
This painting actually has a surprise message under the transparent film and the image of the woman's mouth. It reads "Nobody Loves Me". In hindsight, I think this is pretty harsh, but documents my evolving into a more compassionate and empathetic being with age and wisdom.
The folly of youth is not always pretty...ironically, but in art and beauty.
Transparency film, spray paint, acrylic, magazine cutout, ink
