In the spring I was presented with a bouquet of pink tulips. Delicate flowers stood gracefully in a vase, bowing their beautiful heads to dense crisp leaves. And I thought that they look like young girls, still teenagers, who have just begun to gain their beauty, their femininity and their sexuality. And I wanted to preserve this brief state of timidity, youthful purity, tender bashfulness in my painting with pink tulips.
