Original artwork description:

This artwork revives flapper girls - the symbol of carefree, freedom and outrage. The flappers embraced a lifestyle viewed by many at the time as outrageous, immoral or downright dangerous. Now these women are considered the first generation of independent American ladies, who pushed barriers in economic, political and sexual freedom for women.

Currently, I've been focusing on anthropomorphic art to connect with a viewer, to tell a story, to express my thoughts and feelings. By attributing human characteristics to nonhumans it allows me to focus on the idea behind the painting, rather than depiction of reality.

The sides of the canvas are painted and it's ready to hang. I always use 1.5" thick gallery wrapped cotton canvas for its durability and its 3D effect. The canvas is stretched over high quality pine wood frames and stapled on the back providing a clean finish on the sides.

Materials used:

acrylic paints
