Originally hand drawn in black fineliners, inspired by lyrics from a song that really spoke out to me the first time I heard it; 'Hearts' by American Nightmare.
"All I wanted was a shot in the dark, but like a knife through the heart, I choke on spit covered words"
I wanted to translate the emotion in the song onto paper, partly as a therapeutic exercise but also as a homage to the song.
I've been passionate about anatomical hearts for several years - anatomy in general consists of some beautiful forms aesthetically but hearts in particular I'm drawn to because of their association with love itself.
Transformed into a limited edition of screenprints with handcoloured silver pen on a part of the print
Fineliners and permanent markers, heavyweight cartridge paper, screenprinting materials
