Those first delicate moments of Spring growth when the blossom seems to hold more light than is feasible, the forerunner of a year's new potential and growth. This cherry blossom in my garden was a magnet for my attention as the afternoon sun came around to the angle where the petals became almost transparent.

'Shining Start' was the proud recipient of an American Art Award in 2015 in the category 'Floral Realism'. This is a respected international art award which receives entries from around 40 countries annually, with entries scored by twenty-five top US galleries and winning features included in Highlight Hollywood magazine.

This is a deep-sided canvas with white-painted sides and is ready to hang.

Light is my constant inspiration and capturing those - often fleeting - moments when the radiance is quite extraordinary is my absolute passion.
