Original artwork description:

These elusive snow leopards are my favorite of the big wildcat family. Solitary, stoic and enigmatic. I have captured photographic references of these animals at various UK sanctuaries and wildlife parks over the years and watched them for hours. With this drawing I wanted to depict their less solitary and more tender aspects. I see this composition as a mother guarding her curious and maturing cub. Perhaps she knows that they are on the edge of parting ways but she is content to have protected him thus far and knows that it is soon time for him to venture off alone.
