In creating this painting, I wanted to capture the warmth of maternal love and protection. The mother hen stands tall with a resolute gaze, embodying the role of a guardian, while her three chicks nestle close beneath her, symbolizing trust and security. I used textured brushstrokes to give depth to the hen’s feathers, making them appear rich and tangible. The damp background and splattered white specks create a sense of snowfall or rain, emphasizing the hen’s resilience against the harsh elements. This contrast between the cold environment and the warmth of her protection highlights the essence of the scene.
