Original artwork description:

Textured oil painting in a simple black floater frame.

Inspired by Viola Davis (as Veronica in Steve McQueen's film Widows.)
The title is quoted from Davis' description of her character and why she has turned to crime:
'she has suffered a tremendous loss... she now has nothing. Economically she has nothing. Emotionally she has nothing...she is desperate.... she has no choice'.
I relate to the way Viola Davis describes her role as an actor. She says: ' My job is to create a human being. My job is as an observer and a thief. As an artist you notice everything. How people look when they're in love. You notice that little blink in someone's eye when they're thinking about what they're going to eat. The time their parent died, to feeling like life is hopeless. And within two seconds - because that's how we think as people. You notice those things. And what we do as artists is to create human beings so people can feel less alone'.

Subconsciously or consciously it feels as if that is exactly what I do too as a visual artist.
