Shapwick marshes, Somerset
A day out with the ladies sketching group,
A wetlands that is so special,
Not far from Glastonbury,
Walking along the water channels,
We stop and take in the reed beds and autumn tree colour,
Then we paint.

Words and feelings of being in a beautiful nature reserve.
I thank my artist friends for there support and look forward to more arty days together in nature.
Created outside I used my extra rough watercolour paper bockingford 425 gsm 200lb. Two Chinese brushes were used and four colour technique using Japanese watercolour paints.
I had to work spontaneously and expressively , leaving the white in areas by not wetting all the paper. I used a dragging technique for the reeds and trees and pressing the paint on to build up the colours.
