This is the portrait of a North American Shaman painted using oil paint on gessoed fabriano paper which is a study for a larger work on canvas I am preparing for Winter.
The image highlights a reality that most Shamans in the past are thought to have been women and that this painting tries to reveal this hidden history lost to time, as part of my Lost Generations project, bringing to light our history and in-turn re-evaluating and correcting our contemporary history.
