In this piece I wanted to evoke a sense of quiet contemplation. The never-ending winter months spent inside watching life go its pace from your window, in the safety of your home where it's warm and secure.
This print has many layers consisting of monoprint and Linocut combined. The beauty of this way of printing is that the translucent quality of the inks can be used to great affect for shadows and the way they fade and shimmer.
This is the second version of only two prints made of 'Shadows at the Window'.
Cream Somerset satin 300gsm and oil based inks
