Shadow Tree is painted in acrylic on board. It is painted in a dotty style, which could be called pointillist or impressionistic. It is composed of many layers of overlapping dots and dabs of paint.


I painted this from a photo I took in a an area near my house, where I often go for walks. It was a lovely sunny day, and the tree cast a large shadow across the lane. I loved the contrast of light and shade. I have exaggerated this, and the colours, to create a painting though.

I supply this painting with an ivory mount and backboard. All you have to do is find a frame you like for it. As with all my paintings I only work with standard sizes , so you do not need to get a specialist frame made up. This takes a standard 16 x 20 inch frame.
