Artwork description:

One of the cascading staircases at the iconic Apple Store Chicago, captured by photographer William Dey.
Inside, Foster + Partners responded to Apple’s wish to have the store be a community gathering place as much as it offers a retail presence. The firm designed multiple cascading staircases with landings inside and outside the multi-story space. These staircases function as a “town hall,” where people can linger and exchange ideas. The architects used a wealth of subtle materials and details that quietly stay out of the limelight, leaving the spectacular staircases and river view to draw people down to The Forum.
A portion from the proceeds from the sale of this artwork will be donated to the Chicago Architecture Center. Formerly known as the Chicago Architecture Foundation, the Chicago Architecture Center is a nonprofit cultural organization with tours, exhibitions, programs and events for all ages. Their mission is to inspire people to discover why design matters.
Image is printed on crisp white matte Picture Rag museum-quality paper and measures 20" W X 15" H with additional white borders for a total overall paper measurement of 22" X 17".
Signed and Numbered New Limited Edition print from the William Dey Signature Collection.
