A calm and tranquil portrait of a grey Pure Bred Spanish mare.
I wanted to paint this mare as I loved the soft look in her eye as she gazed at something or someone....a friend perhaps?
I used the tradional technique of grisaille painting to build up with layers of paint.
The sides are painted black
