Artwork description:

Exploring the area with fresh eyes. I returned to the UK in 2012 after an absence of 20 years, and found it much more beautiful than I remembered.

The Seven Sisters are a series of chalk sea cliffs on the English Channel coast, and are a stretch of the sea-eroded section of the South Downs range of hills, in the county of East Sussex, in south-east England. The Seven Sisters cliffs run between the mouth of the River Cuckmere near Seaford, and the chalk headland of Beachy Head outside of Eastbourne - Birling Gap is the name of the small hamlet from where I shot this image. A small village getting smaller as cottages fall into the sea, victims of coastal erosion.

Materials used:

Epson fine art inks and Hahnemühle Photorag 308gsm fine art paper.
