This painting is inspired by the iconic Southern California fan palm. Sometimes they are tall, sometimes short , sometimes skinny and sometimes with a mass of dry furry fronds hanging around their tops like a skirt. They are icons of Southern California. This lone California fan palm rises tall against a setting sun, complemented with calming purples, sunburst oranges and radiating yellows vibrantly illuminating the sky.
Original Oil painting applied with brushes on archival canvas. Painting is wrapped and painted around the sides, and stretched on heavy-duty stretcher bars. Painting measures 12" x 48" x 1.5." An archival varnish has been applied to accentuate the vibrancy of colors and help protect the original painting.
