Like many artists I began from figurative painting (you can see some of my figurative work in my shop). As a rule, I worked from nature.
However, soon I realized that figurative painting is not enough for me, that it is not enough for me simply to portray what already exists (or something like what already exists).
So I came to abstract painting.
However, what does an artist depict in abstract paintings?
Someone might say that this is man's “inner world”, the world of “psyche”, “archetypes”, etc.
But I believe that abstraction is not an image of some world. I think that abstraction is a new world, world which never existed and which is being created right now, before our eyes, by efforts of abstract artists.
And this is much more exciting than just sketching what already exists.
What do you think about this?
