My name is Van, and I'm based in Los Angeles, where I specialize in paintings. My work is inspired by ancient plastic arts, symbolism as well as my personal spiritual beliefs. I'm deeply interested in man's journey through life, and how these manifests in my art. With my pieces, I aim to provoke exploration, reflection, and insight into humanity's spiritual heritage. I'm influenced by the layers and parallels in our physical and spiritual lives, and I strive to create art that harnesses our collective power and resonates with each individual. My works show the complexity of today's Man, full of opposing aspirations, secrets, and mysteries. I'm looking at the crisis time we live in and superimposing it on the state of the human soul, and I'm striving to feel my unity with this world. I'm looking to explore my own identity and how that interacts with the identity of others. The main character in my work is complicated, contradictory, and unexpected. In my artworks I'm exploring the idea of duality in the world we live in and the emotional depth of its people.
