Original artwork description:

I always think of sunflowers as being summer flowers - but here in Maine, they are definitely a late summer/early autumn flower! I love that they start blooming just when most of the color in the garden has started to fade - and they bring such cheer! We had a big wind storm the other day and laid out some of the sunflowers, and I brought them in, put them in a vase, and painted them! Such cheer!
