As I age, I am aware of the change in how I interpret sensations and stimuli.
I have a progressive nerve disease that exaggerates and distorts the sensory messages my body processes.
The pieces in this series serve as a metaphor. They are a reaction to the disorder, and an attempt to accept the inevitable decline.
Like the disease, it will be an ongoing, lengthy and repetitive body of work.
The act of constructing these pieces is therapeutic, and allows me to imagine a positive future as I'm forced to adapt.
