Original artwork description:

This sensitive back view of a muscular male was made with careful deliberation over some time; carefully studying the effect of light on the skin and the shadows cast by the bulging of the muscles. A piece of artwork that cannot be rushed and once made, the hand remembers the way that the figure was rendered.

Made on Fabriano watercolour paper to give an excellent texture for Pierre Noire, the pencil used for this artwork, similar to charcoal.

Materials used:

Pierre Noire/Charcoal
