The left panel bursts with a cold, azure vigor, centered around a stark red impasto, symbolizing the sudden sparks of passion and inspiration in life. The right panel contrasts with softer hues and a bold, golden slash representing resilience and enlightenment. Encaustic abstract painting over a hardboard panel. Each panel is 51.5 x 58 cm. and together they make 103 cm. width. Encaustic is a wax based paint composed of beeswax, damar resin and pigment or oil paint, which is kept molten on a heated palette. When It's applied to the surface with brushes then it's reheated again in order to fuse the paint, bringing the colors into a harmonious composition.
