This is an encaustic abstract painting over a solid wood panel. The painting is framed.
Encaustic is a wax based paint composed of beeswax, damar resin and pigment or oil paint, which is kept molten on a heated palette. It is applied in several layers of combined colors to the surface with brushes and then reheated in order to fuse the paint.
