Original artwork description:

The scene of the drawing, made in ink on cardboard, is dominated by the figure of Dante Alighieri, inspired by the magniloquent monument on the left of the churchyard of Santa Croce in Florence. This, a prestigious symbol of the city, is one of the largest Franciscan churches and one of the greatest Gothic achievements in Italy. In the context of such magnificence, at the foot of the supreme poet, I placed my self-portrait immersed in boundless admiration.
