This is the first of a series of small paintings exploring the idea of re-birth entitled "Seed". The concept for the series is based on my thoughts on humans as organic beings of nature and how we come from nature. It also links to birth, rebirth and awakening. Seed depicts a woman "growing" out from an opium poppy flower which is also a link to sleep and waking up new.
