Original artwork description:

The delicate and intricate works in the Sediment series were inspired by the residue left behind when muddy water was emptied from a bath tub. Vein-like patterns seem to cascade towards the plug hole, forming an other-wordly landscape from the tiny particles.

JakBox has recreated and suspended these ephemeral patterns, using paper and a range of materials such as graphite and mud. Each piece produced is unique in tone, concentration and shape and, as a series, they inspire a range of both visual and physical associations. Some may appear as landscapes when viewed from afar, others, perhaps, more like microscopic images of cells.

Materials used:

Graphite on Paper
