Original artwork description:

A poetical personification of changing seasons. Lady Autumn drops her leaves of paper in surprise at the sudden appearance of Madame winter, stark and graceful in the evening air.
The inspiration for this work came from a sunny but chilly autumn walk near 'the Burren' on Ireland's wild Atlantic coast with Robert Frost's 'Nothing gold can stay' rattling around inside my head.

Materials used:

Oil paint
