Seaside Yucca and flora
An iridescent sandy yellow and pale coral glow,
Abundance by the beach,
Striking and spiky dark green Yucca,
Sea garden,
Inspired by Swanage parkland, Dorset.

Words and inspiration of one of my favourite places on the Dorset coast.
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper acid free, bockingford 425 gsm 200lb. I used wet on wet washes for the background light and I gradually added markings, detail, colour build up for the flora by pressing and dabbing the paint on with my filbert and my mop squirrel hair Japanese brush.
I have Yucca plants that have become huge in my garden so I was inspired by my observations of seeing them so much and the light that day at the beach in Winter.
