Delicate layers of oil colours have been built up, to create this calming and atmospheric seascape. The twinkling harbour lights reflect on the water, lapping at the shore.

Cool blues and dark greys give the impression of night falling, looking out to sea from the quiet beach.

This artwork has been varnished, to add depth to the glossy dark.

Professionally framed in a solid wood surround, hand painted in a Farrow & Ball white.

Lizzie Butler is a contemporary British painter.
