Original artwork description:

A pretty seascape painting with a palette knife with pebble and sand detail in the foreground. This lovely paintings in blues and greens has been inspired by visits to Whitstable where i had a beach hut and spent many hours painting on the beach. The heat of the summer sun brings out the colours in the sea; the foreshore at low tide is scattered with tiny pebbles and shells glinting in the sun.

My paintings are done on hand stretched canvas; I use Russell and Chapple bars and 12oz cotton duck. I then coat the canvas in two coats of acrylic primer before using a basecoat of turpsy red oil paint. The next thing I do is begin to lay out my design with several coats of oil using a brush, followed by impasto work with a palette knife. If I add pebbles or sand this comes nearly at the end of the process.

This painting is 20" x 20" and is varnished and mounted in a modern white wood floater frame and is ready to hang. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. It will be carefully packed in a cardboard box and shipped using a reputable carrier, fully insured.

Materials used:

Artist quality oils with sand and pebbles
