In this painting there is a bright blue sky and the sea is being whipped up into hugh plumes of spray creating little waterfalls over the rocks. However, the little seals are quite unperturbed as they bask on the rocks, safe in the knowledge that they are unlikely to be disturbed on their little rocky outcrop.
