An imposing painting of a seagull on a black background.

I have used the contrast between the black background and seagull to emphasize the birds character and importance. I like to reference the tradition of portraits painted for wealthy men in these series of paintings, and have painted the gull looking unapologetically straight at the viewer to signify status.
